My holiday!

Have you ever been to holiday? It’s a very exciting place with lots of things to do.

Not long ago Mummy and Daddy took me to holiday for the first time and it’s amazing!

If you’ve never been, here’s the best things about holiday:

Mr Squirrel

Me and Mr Squirrel!

Me and Mr Squirrel!

When we got to holiday we stayed in a little house. And in the back garden there was Mr Squirrel! He came to visit us every day, and we fed him nuts. He’d come to the back windows and put his little hands on the door to look at us. He was very funny! I liked him a lot, but Mummy said I couldn’t bring him home with me. I hope whoever is staying at our holiday now is looking after him.

Sunny days

On my bike. It's sunny!

On my bike. It’s sunny!

On holiday it’s always sunny. Every day we got to play outside. Sometimes we went on my bike, sometimes we played with my cars. One day we even had tea in the garden! We never get to do that at home.

Playing outside before bedtime

"What's the time, Mr Wolf?"

“What’s the time, Mr Wolf?”

Every day there was something exciting to do before bedtime. There were some funny grown ups who were dressed in silly costumes and played games with me. We played What’s The Time Mr Wolf, Treasure Hunts and Duck Duck Goose. It was loads of fun! Normally I get to go to the park but there’s never enough people to play big games with. I usually just go on the swings.

Having fun days out

The best thing about holiday is that it’s close to lots of exciting places to go. While we were at holiday we went to loads of places that had fun things to play on. I got to run around on the water in a massive bubble, I drove a tractor, milked a cow and went on the bumper cars with Mummy! I’ve never played on so many things before. I wish there were more fun places at home.

Me and Mummy love the bumper cars!

I can’t wait to go back to holiday again. Daddy says we will go back as soon as he has more money. I asked him if it would be next week, but he said no. I told him he should go to work more so he can take us to holiday again.

I hope he does.

My toy cars

I have lots of fun things to play with, but I think I love my toy cars the best.

Toy cars are brilliant! They come in all different sizes and shapes.

My box of cars!

My box of cars!

I’ve got big ones, little ones, ones with a roof, ones that carry other ones, even ones that go on their own!

I’ve even got ones that look like Daddy’s car, but they’re a bit boring. My favourites are the really pretty ones, like the gold one with purple windows, and the one with green wheels!

These are my two favourite cars

There are so many games you can play with toy cars. I like to zoom them off the sofa onto the floor. They fly through the air and do really good crashes when they hit the carpet! It’s even better when they crash into a wooden floor, but Mummy tells me off when I do that. She’s a bit of a spoilsport.

Another fun game is to whizz them across the kitchen floor. Daddy likes to play that game with me. He sits at one end, I sit at the other, and we take it in turns to whizz them to each other. Daddy does them a bit slowly but I like them to go really fast!

It's a Traffic Jam! Beep beep!

It’s a Traffic Jam! Beep beep!

I don’t always like them to go fast though. Sometimes it’s fun to make a traffic jam. I take all my cars and put them in a big line, like Daddy says he does when he goes to work. Then I make them all go “beep beep!” and “get out of my way!”, just like Daddy does.

The best thing about toy cars is that Daddy keeps buying me new ones. He brings them home from work all the time. I think he loves playing with them almost as much as I do!

But that’s okay. Just as long as he only plays with the ones I say he can, I don’t mind sharing.

Much.

My best friend

I’ve got a lot of friends that I like to play with. But I’ve got a best friend who I spend all my time with. His name is Bear.

My best friend

My best friend

I love my Bear so much. He’s the first one I see in the morning, and the last one I see when I go to sleep. He’s always by my side and even comes shopping with me!

Bear has been with me since I was born. When I was very little, he used to live in my bedroom. He didn’t come downstairs with me in the daytime, and didn’t sit with me when I had my dinner. But he was always there when I wanted him.

He even had a swim once! I dropped him in the bath when Daddy was filling it up for me. That was the only time he went away for a bit. But it didn’t matter, Mummy gave me a different bear who was very nice to cuddle.

But since Bear came back from his swim, he’s been my best friend. When I go to nursery, he comes in the car and waits for me. And when I come out, he’s sat in my carseat! That always makes me laugh.

When we play, Bear likes to sit on my lap. He gives the best cuddles! He likes to sit on my shoulders too, especially when we’re running around the house. He’s only little, so I think he likes to be tall.

When I'm tired, I like to cuddle Bear AND Daddy!

I think Mummy and Daddy love Bear almost as much as me. When I went to the shops with Daddy earlier, I rode my bike and Daddy carried Bear for me. Then when I was tired, Daddy carried my bike and I had Bear.

I hope Bear is always with me. He’s definitely my best friend.

Big day out!

Today was nice weather so Mummy and Daddy said we could go for a big day out. We went to my favourite place… Barry Island!

I love Barry Island. It’s got everything. The seaside, rides, games, and lots of fun hills to ride my bike!

Making sandcastles with Mummy

Making sandcastles with Mummy

As soon as we got there I wanted to go and build a sandcastle. I love the sand. You can kick it, throw it (although Mummy tells me not to), scrape it and make it into things. Mummy got the castle-making bucket out while Daddy looked after my bike.

I helped Mummy to fill the bucket with sand and after she turned it over, I did the most important part – banging the top with my spade. Mummy lifted the bucket and ta-da! A castle! Then the best bit came. I got to knock the castle over! I love smashing sandcastles. It’s great fun.

Bouncing!

Bouncing!

After we made some more castles, I wanted to go on my rides. Daddy got some tokens for me from a man and I got to go on some teacups, a horsey and a trampoline! I jumped on my botty on the trampoline and made Daddy laugh. He likes it when I bounce really high.

I'm on a ride!

I’m on a ride!

I was really tired after all the bouncing so I went for a sit down. Mummy and Daddy looked tired too, so we had a hot chocolate. Then I got to go on my bike! I zoomed along the road really fast. Mummy and Daddy clapped!

Before we went home, Daddy said there was just time to play on some games. I played a thing with Daddy where I had to hit a circle across a big table with lots of air (it was air hockey – Dad). And the best thing was, I won! Daddy looked upset (I let him. Honest – Dad).

Then it was time to go home. When we got in, Mummy made my favourite tea. Waffles, chicken nuggets and peas!

It was the best day ever.

SNOW!

I love snow! And we’ve had lots and lots and lots of it!

When I woke up the other day I came downstairs with Mummy and Daddy and there was lots and lots of snow outside!

Everything was covered in it. Daddy’s car, the garden, even the road!

My dinosaur hat - it's toasty!

My dinosaur hat – it’s toasty!

I couldn’t wait to go out and play. Mummy told me I had to dress up warm because snow is really cold. She was right! Daddy opened the door to let me see it, and it was FREEZING. I was glad to have my dinosaur hat on – and my big coat, and scarf, and gloves. Even then my hands were cold!

My snowman!

My snowman!

It took FOREVER to get ready, but when we finally did go out, Daddy and me built a snowman in the garden. We used a carrot for his nose and eyes, and I got to do his mouth with my fingers! Then Daddy gave me his scarf to put on the snowman. He’s nearly as tall as me and looks into our living room. I love him!

Later on I went to the park with my best friend Josh. He has a sledge and he let me have a go on it! Daddy and me went zooming down the hill and nearly fell off! It was great fun and Daddy promised to get me my own sledge (which I did – Dad).

Sitting on a snowman

The next day Daddy and me built lots more snowmen in the back garden. It was lots of fun and Daddy let me play Humpty Dumpty on them! He sat me on each of them and I fell off into the snow. It was brilliant!

Daddy built a snowman in my car. He's silly!

I hope the snow never goes away. It’s the best thing ever.

It’s Christmas!

Father Christmas has been!

003

Mummy and Daddy said I must have been a good boy this year because Father Christmas has been and he’s brought me everything I wanted and more!

Last year I wasn’t really that excited about Christmas, even though I got lots of good toys and had lots of fun. But this year it’s different.

As soon as I woke up I ran through to see Mummy and Daddy and ask if Father Christmas had been. He had! There was a sack full of presents for me to open, waiting on their bed.

I had lots of fun things, like bubbles, aeroplanes and toys and lots of sweeties too! Mummy said I could eat some of them but not too many. They were really yummy. I wanted to eat them all!

I was a bit sad though because I asked Father Christmas to bring me painting things and he didn’t. I wanted to cry. But then I remembered Daddy told me Father Christmas would be coming in downstairs, so I ran to the living room to see if he’d left anything else.

And he had!

I've got painting things!

I’ve got painting things!

I got all the painting things I wanted, as well as a big wooden thing to do the painting on (an easel – Dad). I wanted to play with them right away, but then I noticed something else.

It was really big and Mummy and Daddy were really excited by it. So I grabbed the paper and pulled it and…

…IT WAS A BIKE! I’VE GOT A BIG BOY BIKE!!!!

My big boy bike!

My big boy bike!

I’ve played on bikes before and I love them. How did Father Christmas know? I didn’t even ask him for one!

This is the best Christmas ever! I spent all day zooming around on my bike with my new monkey helmet on.

Thank you Father Christmas!

My favourite games

Games are the best thing to do. Playing with my toys and doing puzzles is fun, but games are better because you get to play with someone else.

It’s a Traffic Jam!

One of the best games to play is Traffic Jam. Daddy and me do this with my toy cars. We get all the cars and line them up on my car tower. I like to pretend all the cars are trapped. I make them shout “Help! Help! Let me out!”.

When we’ve done that for a little bit, we zoom the cars down the ramp and they all crash at the bottom!

Another good game is called Pants*. You have to lie on Mummy and Daddy’s bed and hide your face under one of the pillows. Then when Mummy or Daddy come close to you, pull the pillow down and shout “boo”!

It’s really funny to see how much they jump when I go boo. I must be good at hiding.

Hiding in a shop. Can you see me?

In fact, my favourite game is Hide and Seek. And I’m really good at it as well. It always takes Mummy and Daddy ages to find me. I think it’s because I choose such good hiding places.

I’m in my toy box!

Mummy is quite good at hide and seek, but Daddy is rubbish. I can always find him really easily. Yesterday he hid behind a lamp! He’s silly. He’s so bad that I have to pretend I can’t find him to make the game last longer.

Who wants to play?

*I’m afraid I can’t shed any light on this game, or where the name came from. I just report what he tells me – Dad
